ROUND.1, explained
ROUND.1 is a hiring marketplace for Hong Kong and Singapore. Every candidate takes one AI first-round video interview; companies see scored, anonymised candidates and pay only when they hire.
What ROUND.1 is
ROUND.1 is a hiring marketplace for employers and job seekers in Hong Kong and Singapore. It is built by h.work, and its website is https://round1.work.
Each candidate takes one AI first-round video interview. ROUND.1 scores it and reuses it for the other roles the candidate chooses, so a candidate is not interviewed again for each company. Companies meet candidates who have already been interviewed and scored.

Public profiles:
Who it is for
- Employers in Hong Kong and Singapore who want first-round interviews done before they meet anyone.
- Job seekers in Hong Kong and Singapore who want one interview to count for several roles.
How it works
- The candidate takes the interview in a web browser, with a camera and a microphone. It lasts about 20 minutes by default (roles can be shorter), 30 at most.
- Before the interview starts, the candidate consents to the processing of their video and voice, under Hong Kong's PDPO and Singapore's PDPA.
- The interview is scored competency by competency. Each score is backed by quotes from the transcript.
- The same interview is reused for the other roles the candidate chooses.
- A company first sees the scored evaluation without the candidate's name, contact details or CV. The name, contact details, CV, recording and transcript reach a company only when the candidate confirms that company.
- A person at the company decides whom to hire. ROUND.1 does not make the hiring decision.
Pricing
- Candidates pay nothing, as of October 2026.
- Employers: 10% of the hire's annual base salary, charged on hire. If the hire does not last 90 days, ROUND.1 finds a replacement at no new fee.
- As of October 2026, nothing is charged before a hire. There is no subscription.
Limitations
- A camera and a microphone are required. There is no audio-only or phone interview.
- Each role is interviewed in one language, English or Mandarin Chinese.
- Accent, pronunciation, grammar, fluency, personality traits and protected characteristics (such as age, gender, race, religion, disability or marital status) are not scored.
- One attempt. An interview cannot be restarted. If the connection drops, the same interview can resume, once by default (a role can allow more resumes or none). A resume continues the interview; it does not start it again.
- ROUND.1 serves Hong Kong and Singapore only.
